The release of Suniel Shetty’s much-anticipated period drama, “Kesari Veer,” has been postponed to May 16, 2025, as announced by Panorama Studios, the film’s official distributor. The film was initially slated for a March 14, 2025 release. This decision aims to ensure a more impactful worldwide launch, allowing the team additional time for promotion and distribution strategies.

“Kesari Veer” delves into the inspiring tale of unsung warriors who fought valiantly to protect the Somnath Temple from invaders in the 14th century AD. Suniel Shetty portrays Vegdaji Bhil, a 14th-century king who joins forces with Veer Hamirji Gohil, played by Sooraj Pancholi, to defend the temple against the Tughlaq dynasty’s assault. Vivek Oberoi takes on the role of the antagonist, Zafar Khan, adding depth to the narrative.

Shetty’s portrayal of Vegdaji Bhil demanded rigorous preparation, including mastering horse-riding and various forms of weaponry such as self-made spears, slings, axes, bows, arrows, knives, and swords. He also underwent training in archery and guerrilla warfare tactics, reflecting the Bhil community’s combat style. The actor’s commitment extended to embodying the physicality of the role, with his weapon alone weighing approximately 15 kilograms.

Post-production efforts are currently underway, with significant attention to visual effects to enhance the cinematic experience.

The teaser for “Kesari Veer” has already generated excitement, showcasing adrenaline-pumping action sequences and high-octane moments. Shetty’s commanding screen presence as Vegdaji Bhil has been particularly noted, marking a powerful return to the big screen after a three-year hiatus.

With the new release date set for May 16, 2025, audiences can anticipate a grand cinematic experience that pays tribute to the valor and sacrifice of historical warriors. The film promises to be a visual spectacle, combining intense action sequences with a compelling narrative that brings to light a lesser-known chapter of Indian history.
